These
still life watercolors I made during the art classes in the 7th grade of elementary school in Bucharest, Romania –1967 (age
13). The teacher brought to class a stuffed bird and a potted geranium from
the biology lab and we were asked to paint them in two separate one-hour
class. I remember my art teachers calling me the following days to the
teacher’s lounge to invite me considering moving to a fine arts school. I
couldn’t think of me becoming an artist or even a drawing teacher so I
never told my parents about this. I
realized very early that I did not have the imagination of an artist even if I enjoyed spending several hours
a day drawing and trying most drawing media (ink, charcoal, graphite).
